One of our greatest responsibilities is to provide our children with a world-class education. That’s why I was excited to hear that the courts recently sided with the parents at Palm Lane Elementary in Anaheim, restoring their right to convert their failing school into a charter school. This ruling means they are one step closer to making that a reality.

Here is a quick background.  In 2013, frustrated over a decade of failing academic performance, the parents of Palm Lane Elementary School in Anaheim used the Parent Trigger Law. This law allows parents to petition their school board to convert their failing school into a charter school.
